So, don't worry, starting from the beginning will still bring you incredible feminist moments and a whole lot of fun. Luckily, Alien movies tend to follow a formula, and the most important part of said formula is having a strong, female protagonist. Fall in love with Ripley and her world, and then you can work your way back to the beginning. If you're hesitant to get into the Alien franchise, I suggest ditching the timeline and starting with Alien. Unfortunately, this means that if you want to start fresh at the beginning, you're going to have to wait two long movies until you get to the introduction of Ripley, Sigourney Weaver's iconic female hero. To star at the beginning of the story, one actually has to start with the most recent Alien release, Prometheus, before working their way up to the original Alien. The Alien franchise is essentially made up of two separate series - the original films and the prequels. However, as with other massive franchises, the timeline in the Alien narrative has shifted a bit with time, and the ever expanding mythology of the franchise means that the order you should see the Alien movies in doesn't necessarily correlate to the order of their release. Almost 40 years after the original film, Alien, was released in theaters, Scott is gearing up to release the sixth official film in the franchise Alien: Covenant. The thrilling, edge-of-the-seat story is the movie's beating heart, though, and the well-paced and perfectly structured plot are matched by solid performances and powerfully arresting visuals.Ridley Scott's epic Alien franchise is multiplying almost as quickly as the Xenomorph in the movies. All the elements are in place for a rattling space opera, but Scott also explores themes of identity and self-worth that run through films like Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise and Gladiator, and asks profound questions about creation and mortality. However, upon landing on a faraway planet, other motives for the mission begin to emerge, while the visitors receive an unexpected and shocking welcome.

Director Ridley Scott's eagerly anticipated return to science fiction, 30 years after Blade Runner, shares much of its DNA with Alien, his first foray into the genre, though it's more of a precursor than a prequel to that 1979 shocker.
